two primitive radiant toothbrushes

these are primitively sketched RTB, haloed by cut paper that my son, Christopher, colored. i mounted everything on paper, which i markered and inked by hand for texture.

most of the pieces i show here will be hung for the month of june at the Hard Bean Cafe in Bethlehem, PA. they will be for sale! my first real show, and i'm kinda nervous

final radiant toothbrush mermaids

the top version is a cut out print which was colored digitally and with, mainly, marker. i used tissue paper, hand stamped (with my own made stamp) with silver ink, underneath the mermaid.

the bottom (two photos) version is also colored digitally and with marker. the metallic gold star stamping is from my own made stamp. the frame, as ever, has been rescued.

leopard for Sean

my twelve year old son wanted me to draw him a leopard. he wishes his version to be "normal looking." whatev.

so i drew it in ink, then added color via photoshop and magic marker. next i used metallic ink to apply a globe rubber stamp of my own making onto green tissue paper, and applied that. the bottom image shows the shiny.

the radiant toothbrush series is here!

the radiant toothbrush. this visual device will star in my next few drawings. this particular drawing, of a carousel horse mounted on r.t.b., was inspired by the ever-inspirational Gillian Davies, whose art i swoon over on a daily basis. Gillian is the mistress of fabulous printing and collaging, among other things, so please check her out!

also notice: my hand created banana rubber stamp has been in hand, along with my metallic inks. LOVE me my banana :)

but viewing this, here, now, i'm seeing waaaay too much pink. note to self: expand color palette before JUNE SHOW AT LOCAL COFFEE HOUSE
