ok. on tuesday i will drive my art to lancaster
(with Adrienne, yes, road trip).
i have completely framed 16 of the 24 pieces, and i have
4 rainbows on my desk (20), a teacup original
in my closet (21), 2 drawings in my sketchbook (23).

oh. 23. well. i'm getting closer. more soon!

i remain uncertain on this one. i definitely like the drawing, but perhaps cray-pas were a silly idea?

day of tues

ok so it may seem as if i'm simply recylcing old stuff for may, but hey. i call it "finishing."

so may. there is a cool store in lancaster, pa called HMB Designs, and i will have 24 pieces of my original art hanging there for the month. of may. there is a large and traditionally well populated arts "event" (the exact title escapes me) that will take place on mother's day weekend this year.

so. i do have new stuff i'm working on, i swear! i just am trying to "finish" some of the older work first. stay tuned

day of mon

last night i carved a feather stamp out of a pink eraser. the photo on top is a very blue-er-ized photo thereof.

today i needed to fill a horizontal frame, so i used my photoshopped iphone shot of this goodwill globe twice, adding marker color, cut map triangles, and a date stamp (my new favorite toy). why, you may ask, did i NEED to fill a horizontal frame? i need 24 new pieces for the month of may, but more on that later. now, the pizza calls me

some new stuff

the top image is not new new, as i drew it initially in february. but the other day i gave her a face and some cray-pas color and i'm debating my next step.

the second image is a simple line drawing of alice littell, the girl lewis carroll photographed and wrote his famous book about. this photo is of alice not as the little girl but the 17 year old. i have ideas of where i will go with this one.

i have to draw and frame like a crazy person for the next 2 weeks, but more on that later

meet Lila (she's a yogi, too)

today is my birthday, which is my favorite holiday of the year. it's a bonanza, maybe a week-long event for me, where i giggle a lot and accept kind words gracefully and eat more mcdonald's than i usually do.

this year i'm diverting some of the attention to a little girl named Lila. she was born with Cerebral Palsy and that sucks. CP is a condition affecting brain and nervous functions involving any or all of the following: movement, mobility, learning, hearing, seeing and thinking. it is a lifelong condition and there is no cure, but studies involving stem cell/umbilical cord transplant look promising.

a group of artists (the Creative Coconuts) have come up with the idea of creating a Blog Hop, where people take turns blogging about Lila and CP in general, with the goals of enlightening their readers and hopefully raising money towards providing Lila with stem cell therapy.

all of the vital information can be found on Lila's Blog HERE. please also check out What Is Design HERE, which is the site i found that compelled me to get involved. please take a few clicks and spread the word. i'll consider it my birthday present :)
